Director’s Note

Welcome to Sparkle on Stage Cultural Arts Center. I am proud to say that this is the third production that I have produced working with Frank Morris. His musicals are fun, witty and most importantly teach a lesson that our children need to learn and our grownups need to remember.

Music, dance, and theater do more than build artistic talents - they help children develop the creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills that are essential for success in subjects like English, Math and History. Most importantly, the arts helps build your child’s confidence in public-speaking, giving them a well-rounded set of skills that they will carry with them throughout their adult lives.

As a performer myself I know there is no better feeling than the sound of applause confirming that you provided an evening of laughter, joy and entertainment for others.

Thank you to our parents and families and friends for supporting our cast and crew. Thank you to Liz Comerford at the Freeport Recreation Center for her support and kindness throughout the years.

Giselle Jean-Louis

Hi! My name is Giselle, and I am so excited to be playing the lead role of Almost Hamilton. Almost Hamilton is my first play, and I have loved dressing up in costume, practicing my lines, and getting to know my castmates and my director, Ms. Robyn.
When I’m not at rehearsal, I enjoy being creative. I love making art, playing with homemade play dough, baking treats, singing, and doing fun science experiments. I would describe myself as kind, fun, and smart.
Thank you to my mom, dad, brother, castmates, and Ms. Robyn for supporting me and helping me prepare for this show. I hope you enjoy my very first performance!

Ava Mentor

Ava Mentor is nine years old and this is her third show with Sparkle on Stage. Previously she performed as a Pirate in Peter Pan Jr. and as a Colonist in Colonies vs. The Crown. She enjoys singing, dancing and playing with her sisters, and spending time with her family.

Emmy Heeber

Emmy is an energetic 8-year-old who will be entering 3rd grade this fall. She loves expressing herself through art, singing, and dancing, and is always ready to bring creativity and enthusiasm to every activity she joins. Emmy enjoys making new friends, being a team player, and spreading kindness wherever she goes. This production marks Emmy’s very first acting experience, and she is thrilled to be stepping into the spotlight! Big thank you to Ms. Robyn for bringing out the very best of Emmy’s singing and acting abilities.

Kathryn Kuehn

Kathryn is ready to boogie into her 4th show with Sparkle on Stage, where she previously appeared as Glinda in Oz in Concert, Peter Pan in Peter Pan Jr. and Martin Schenck, Esq. in Colonies vs. the Crown! She is 8 years old and loves singing, dancing and writing her own plays. Kathryn would like to thank her family, friends and Ms. Robyn for their support and hopes you enjoy the show!

Hailey Benjamin

Hi, I’m Hailey and I absolutely love Drama! I have been a part of a few different productions throughout my school years. The Color Factory and The North Pole musical at Bayview. My recent production was at Atkinson School in Madagascar Jr. which was earlier this month. I am so happy to be a part of this production. Enjoy !

Penelope Escoto

Penelope is thrilled to be appearing in her third production with Sparkle on Stage! She landed her first leading role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family at USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts and has since performed in The Wizard of Oz, OZ in Concert, and Newsies Jr. When she's not on stage, Penelope loves singing, designing costumes, and listening to show tunes and K-pop. She is so excited to reunite with her friends, make new memories, and share another amazing performance with the audience!

Maisy Blueberry Farrington

Maisy Blueberry Farrington is a 9-year-old 3rd grader from Baldwin who loves storytelling in all forms. She is an avid reader, with Diary of a Wimpy Kid being her favorite series, and enjoys writing and drawing her own graphic novels. A self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, Maisy also loves Japanese anime and is a big fan of Hatsune Miku. Recently, she has discovered a love for Michael Jackson and is excited to see MJ: The Musical for the second time. She previously performed as Tooth Fairy #2 in Sparkle on Stage’s staged reading of Tooth. She would like to send a special thank you to Ms. Robyn and her mommy and daddy!

Charlotte Charles

Charlotte is 8 years old. I love acting and singing and I’ve been in many productions. I enjoy each of them. I performed as Tiger Lily in Peter Pan and I was in the first production as the title character in Almost Hamilton.

Eileen Nava

My name is Eileen Nava, and I am 8 years old. My favorite color is purple. In my free time, I enjoy going to the park and spending time with my cousins and friends. I take swimming lessons, and I really enjoy them. I am also very happy because I am going to have a baby brother.

Robyn Workman

Robyn Workman is a lifelong Freeport resident and has contributed to the community in many capacities over the years. She studied voice and piano from an early age and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts cum laude from Long Island University.

Her career as a performer, educator, and director has spanned over 30 years. She contributed to the John W. Dodd Drama Club as a producer and director. She acted as the manager of the FHS Music Parents Organization and served as the Arts in Education Coordinator for the Nassau Region PTA.

Robyn has worked as the Drama Teacher/Director and Choir Director at Head Injury Association, which serves adults with traumatic brain injuries. Robyn also is a private teacher of voice, piano and NYSSMA prep.

Ms Workman is a Director on the Freeport Chamber of Commerce.

In June of 2022, Mrs. Workman opened Sparkle on Stage, Inc. Cultural Arts Center, a 501c3 non-profit organization, which is a place to create and experience meaningful artistic expressions through the visual and performing arts. The purpose is to enrich, empower, and entertain our community by providing a home for the cultural arts.

Freda Walzer

Freda Walzer is the treasurer for Sparkle on Stage Cultural Arts Centre, and is celebrating a year with Sparkle as the in-house AV Tech. She has worked on productions of all types and with all ages in a multitude of genres, including as assistant director in Peter Pan JR.

Frank Morris

Frank Morris is a special education teacher dedicated to encouraging a lifelong love of learning.
