August 2025 NEWSLETTER |
Welcome to Sparkle on Stage's monthly newsletter! We are thrilled to share with you the latest developments in our mission to enrich, empower, and entertain our community.
Musical Theatre Show

We would like to congratulate South Shore Theatricals on their sold out run of “Blame It On the Movies." The show was a revue which featured classic songs from popular movies, ranging from "Meet Me in St. Louis" to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and from "The Way You Look Tonight" to "Footloose."
We are very excited to welcome them back next summer. Check out our events page for more details.

Live R&B Music
If you missed Dillon and Mikari’s R&B Throwback, it was a “Night to Remember.” This piano-vocal duo brought the soulful sounds of the ‘90s and ‘00s to our stage, playing song such as Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature," just to name a few. Check our website for information on a December appearance.
We also celebrated Lewis Anderson’s birthday (Luther Vandross tribute act). The smooth sounds of Lewis and his backup singers made the streets come alive with his expressive music.
Live Music and Local Bands

August is chock full of fun events. We have many bands coming to play live music, including Brandon Maroney and Friends, and two local high school bands, Panacea and Salevv.
The Long Island Arts Council is also sponsoring live music on the Esplanade on Freeport's beautiful Nautical Mile. Shows are every Thursday night in the summer.
And, of course, Sparkle on Stage hosts our monthly Spoken Wordz Open Mic on the last day of the month. We welcome new performers.

Family Activities and Ice Cream
We are hosting a kids' magic show. Also, every Wednesday night from 7-9 pm is Game Night. Grab a snack from our concessions stand or an ice cream from Sam’s Scoops and hang out with friends, family or make it a date night. Play old time favorites such as dominoes, chess or four in a row, to name a few. $5 donation at the door.
Freeport and Nautical Mile Events
Other August activities we are supporting are National Night Out, and Buffetville on the Mile. For a complete list of our shows, check out the events page on our website.
Donate to Support
Finally, we rely on the kindness and support of our community. If you are able to donate your time or resources, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support!
