Director's Note

Welcome to Oz in Concert.

This show began as a simple idea, take the songs and sayings we know from different iterations of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and use them to retell Dorothy’s journey with heart, humor, and imagination. What it became is something much more meaningful.

With a small cast and a cozy black box theater, we built this world from the ground up purely out of our love for performing. Every person on this stage of every age and every level of experience has poured their time, talent, and heart into bringing Oz to life in a new way. Their generosity and enthusiasm have made this story feel new.

As this is my directorial debut, creating this production has been both a challenge and a joy. I’m heading to college soon to pursue acting, and I hope to keep making art that inspires, surprises, and connects people the way this project has connected us.

Thank you for being here. We hope you enjoy your journey through Oz as much as we loved creating it.
